*Disclaimer: I am not a hair stylist. But I like to do my own hair and nails because I save a lot of money.
WHAT I DID: FIRST, I separated my hair into 4 sections. After separating my hair, I braid each section. Once the braids are done, I proceed to wash my hair. Active hair needs a lot of love and dedication. So I really take my time. SECOND, I wash my hair with a Hydrate and Repair Argan Oil of Morocco shampoo. My hair gets really dry during the summer. When I applied this product, I focused only on my scalp. After I rinse out the shampoo, I apply Crème of Nature with Argan Oil Pure-Licious Co-Wash Cleansing Conditioner. When I apply this product, I focus on the root all the way to the ends of the hair. After applying the cleansing conditioner, I rinse it out and pat my hair with a cotton old shirt. THIRD, I take one braid out at a time and apply the Hydrate and Repair Argan Oil of Morocco Creamy Hair Butter. For this product you can leave it in, or wash it out. I always choose to leave it in, because it is a great and a safe detangler for my hair. After I untangle my hair, I apply Cantu Shea Butter Thermal Shield Heat Protectant from root to tip. After applying the heat protector, I blow dry my hair using the tension method. I DID THIS THIRD SECTION TO EACH BRAID. FOURTH, after blow drying my hair, I made nine corn rolls going straight back with the Johnson Product Ultra Sheen grease. After making the nine corn rolls, I connected the ends of my corn roll and made one braid. I sewed the single braid to a corn roll. Then, I applied Jamaican black castor oil to my scalp. Once I was done with the Jamaican black castor oil, I took my crochet tool, started adding the hair, and proceeded to style my hair. This is a good quick treatment when you are rushing and haven’t done a hot oil treatment that month. Be Me, Do Me, Love RiRi Be You, Do You, Love You THIS SUMMER, I AM TRYING TO DO A "LITTLE-BIT OF HEAT ON MY HAIR" SUMMER! Being active all the time in rehearsals and sweating the heat makes it pointless to use any hot utensil on my hair. I may blow dry my hair a few times, doing the tension method. In my opinion, the tension method is one of the best ways to blow dry your hair. Right now, it has been a month since I flat ironed my hair. I have to say, I am learning more about my hair. I know my hair can get dry. But this challenge is allowing me to find great ways to keep my hair moist. I finding out what works for me. I will keep you up dated! PLEASE, if your trying any new challenge comment below and let me know! OR, if you want to try this challenge let me know. Keep me updated as well. Be Me, Do Me, Love RiRi Be You, Do You Love You A lot of people forget that the small things matter! There are so many small things that will help you maintain healthy hair. I love to call them Your hair’s best friend. Below are a few example. 1) SILK IS YOUR HAIR’S BEST FRIEND Silk saves your hair. A lot of people know that you can wear a silk scarf for bed. But I like to have a few cute silk scarfs for style as head bands. This is the best way to protect your hair while you are being active. When you are at a rehearsal, or at the gym work out wear a silk scarf. DO NOT settle with a regular bandanna all the time, Switch it up! Cut and design it to make the silk scarf comfortable for you and your active. 2) NAILS CAN BE YOUR HAIR’S BEST FRIEND DO NOT attempt to do your hair with chipped, un-filed, messed up nails. Chipped nails can cause breakage when you run your hands through your hair. If you do not maintain your nails, you can seriously destroy your hair. All you have to do is keep them smooth and clean. NOTE -> If you have natural nails, always keep a small nail filer with you. If you have tips, keep glue with you to close up them cracks. 3) BRAIDS ARE YOUR HAIR’S BEST FRIEND We all know braids are the best way to maintain your hair, style wise. However, it is also good to WASH your hair in braids. Put your hair in 3-5 (or how many as your please) braids, and wash your hair. This is a good Technic if you like to scratch your scalp, have transitioning hair, or to really want get to your scalp without tangling up your hair. Once you’re done washing your hair, blow dry your hair braid by braid. MEANING, take one braid out and blow dry that section before taking all of the braids out at once. This process is not only great for your hair; it is also doesn’t take long. 4) WATER IS YOUR HAIR’S BEST FRIEND It is really simple; water is not the enemy. Especially if you are wearing a wash and go style (look up on youtube this style if you don’t know what a wash and go is), water is good to detangle your hair, if your regular detangle product is not so good. 5) HEALTH IS YOUR HAIR’S BEST FRIEND Please remember this, how you take care of yourself on the inside, reflects on how your look on the outside. Balance your meals out. Drink at least a bottle of water a day. If you are a person that is taking hair supplement, please drink a bottle and a half of water a day. These are only a hair tips! If you know any more hair best friend, comment down below and share them LOL! Be Me, Do Me, Love RiRi Be You, Do You, Love You What you will need:
